Ruff Ruff! As you can see, I’m cute as a button and happy217 spends all her time taking care of me now. So you can blame me for her time away from blogging. Now where’s my treat?! Muahahahhaha.
I started my own blog, so if you’re looking for some “cute” stuff, go to: Happy Doggy
Starting today (Jan 20th), several big retailers will giveaway $175 million worth of free high-end cosmetics as part of a class-action settlement alleging that the stores planned to fix prices. Department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstrom will distribute free cosmetics as long as supplies last to shoppers who bought certain cosmetics between May 29, 1994 and July 16, 2003 to settle claims that the stores violated antitrust laws and tried to fix prices.
All you have to do is show up to the beauty counters at your major department store (if they are participating), sign a form stating that you did buy cosmetic between the dates listed above. They will be giving an assortment of small and full size products valued up to $25. =)
Shoppers are only permitted to receive one product made by cosmetic companies that include Chanel, Estee Lauder and L’Oreal USA, among others. Stores participating in the settlement include: Bergdorf Goodman, Bergner’s, Bloomingdale’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Dillard’s, Gottschalks, Herberger’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Parisian, Saks Fifth Avenue.
The following is a list will be distributed, while supplies last, through the stores listed above:
- Boucheron (USA) Ltd.: Femme Eau de Toilette (1 ounce/30 ml)
- Chanel, Inc.: Coco Mademoiselle body lotion (3.4 fluid oz)
- Christian Dior Perfumes, Inc.: J’Adore Eau de Parfum (15 ml)
- Clarins U.S.A., Inc. (customers will have a choice of ONE of two products, while supplies last): Clarins Energizing Morning Cream (30 ml) OR Clarins Beauty Flash Bomb (30 ml)
- Conopco, Inc. (distributed by Coty, Inc. on behalf of Conopco, Inc.) (customers will have a choice of ONE of three products, while supplies last): Calvin Klein Euphoria Bath and Shower Crème (6.7 oz) OR Vera Wang Princess Body Polish (5 oz) OR Lovely Sarah Jessica Parker Shower Gel (6.7 oz)
- The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. (customers will have a choice of ONE of two products, while supplies last): Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair (15 ml/0.5) OR Clinique Moisture Surge (30 ml/1 oz)
- FOR A COMPLETE LIST, PLEASE VISIT: http://www.cosmeticssettlement.com.
These are the only products that will be distributed, while supplies last, as part of the settlement product distribution. Not all products are available in all stores; rather, stores will be distributing products from the participating brands that the particular store ordinarily sells.

Today was definitely more eventful, since I didn’t have to roll solo. Enjoy!
I woke up today still feeling a bit sick from my PI trip. = ( This is the 1st year I actually skipped Tokyo Auto Salon, but I heard the attendance was pretty light anyways. Sooooo, I spent the day browsing the shops and having a quiet day to myself. Here are just a few things that caught my attention. Enjoy!
It feels lovely to be back in Tokyo again and my first day was very exciting! Our journey started with long commute on the “limo bus” to Roppongi Hills. Can’t wait to have a hot bowl of ramen. Yummmmmy.
The weather in Singapore has been pretty cool this year with less humidity and rain. It’s really abnormal weather, but I must confess, it feels great.
I’m back in Singapore for just one day, which means more relaxing time by the pool & good eats. Next stop, Japan!
The final 3 days in the Cebu (Philippines), consisted of more local food and several trips to the spa. Unfortunately I fell sick, either because of the water or I ate something with germies on it. =(
Anyhow, here are a few pics from the last few days in Cebu.
I’m back in Tokyo and loving it! I packed really light, so my Macbook is back in Singapore. =(
Will continue to update my bloggy with more pics in a few days. I still need to post up the rest of my Philippines trip!
This trip to Cebu consisted of lots of dinners out with friends and family. However, today I must highlight one of the best eateries in Cebu, Cafe George. They also have another restaurant called, Oh George (inside Ayala Mall).
The owner of this cafe trained at the culinary institute in San Francisco, and later return to Cebu to open up a chain of cafe’s offering Western food fares. You can find everything from chinese chicken salad, lemongrass chicken over rice, or a classic tuna melt.
Another thing I love about Cafe George is their modern and simplistic decor. Bon appetite!
And, for breakfast, we enjoyed some waffles and beef tapas at the Pancake House at The Terraces.
My first impression of Cebu was totally different than what I saw when I landed. Unlike Manila, Cebu is still lacks infrastructure and is still very rural.
My heart really broke when I saw people lined up on the side of the streets working in the trenches in little shops with limited electricity and no air conditioning. Let me remind you that it is about 100 degrees outside and sunny. =( I must say it was a total culture shock to see so many people living in extreme poverty. I mean, this is like 10 times worst than Compton. And, to make things worst, the wealthy here live in houses that put Newport Beach to shame.
However, I must give credit to the beautiful dressmaker’s in Cebu and the massive “Irvine Spectrum” like shopping/restaurant plazas. Did you know world famous designer Monique Lhuillier is from Cebu?
Anyhow, here is where I went on my first day in Cebu. The Terraces, which features 37 new restaurants and even Starbucks!
Cafe Laguna features local specialties like cripsy prata, sauteed squid, fresh green mango shake, and four seasons drink!
I got up early this morning to catch a flight out to Cebu, Philippines. The airport is about 25 mins from where we live, so we had to call a taxi. Surprisingly, we had a white E-class Mercedes waiting for us downstairs. They normally have a wide variety of new and old cars for taxi’s, but the E-class was definitely more comfy. Now that’s my kind of taxi!
I probably never mentioned this before, but Changi airport is the best airport in the world. No, I’m really serious. Here are the amenities (free of charge):
– Movie theatre
– Free game zone and internet zones
– Huge giant screen lounge area
– swimming pool
– orchid and botanical gardens
– massage and spa lounge
– overnight sleeping quarters
This is one airport I wouldn’t mind having a long layover at. In addition to the free amenities, there are tons of restaurants and snacks for you to enjoy. Here are some of my favorites!
Hello all! My Macbook is back in Singapore, so I haven’t had the chance to update my travel journal.
I will have lots of things to share with you soon. Until then, I hope you’re enjoying 2009!
It’s officially Jan 1, New Year’s Day here in Singapore. The sun was out earlier this morning, however the dark clouds started rolling in and took away all the sunshine. =( Lightning and roars of thunder soon followed.
Today is recovery day from a long night out at Zirca. The music was a bit off, but we had good company. The whole night, I was hoping that Tiesto would magically appear and spin a quick set, but sadly he was no where to be found. It’s almost 6pm and everyone is still knocked out. Dinner time is coming up, so I’m sure we’ll venture out to grab some good eats. Hope to be back in a few hours with some exciting pics.
Since it was NYE day, we decided to have a little R&R. The weather has been perfect, so it was time to pay a visit to the pool and tennis courts!
In about 2 days, I’ll begin sharing some pics from the Philippines! XoXo.
Happy New Year! Wishing you good health in 2009.
