2 weeks, 2x @ Jose Andres Restaurants @ SLS. I’m the luckiest girl on the Westside. Jose Andres is the perfect place to take your date, or just an awesome place to meet up some friends for dinner. The menu is very eclectic, with an endless assortment of modern and traditional tapas. The cocktail menu also has a wide variety of yummy elixirs to choose from, however the Magic Mojito is by far the most popular drink there.
Parking: Valet only
Price range per person(w/1 cocktail): $100-$150
I must say that everything on the Jose Andres menu is fantastic, and here are some of my favorites.
So, finally!!! We’ve officially started the DIY (or have someone else do it, if you’re a cheater like me) projects at home. It took awhile to decide on a color for the guest room, but I ran over to Home Depot and had the guy mix up something extra special for me. Looks like it’s time to decorate the wall with some art, or maybe even some vinyl decals. Stay tuned for updates!
Here it is…
After flipping through dozens of wallpaper sample books, we’ve finally decided on something for our master bedroom. The color theme will be: purple, black, silver, and white. I’ve also included some pieces that we may incorporate, to transform our space into a stylish bedroom. Total budget: $1000
Please, let me introduce you to my Bling Tree! No leaves to clean up and no water necessary. Just add sparkly things to keep it alive! Available at Cb2.com
it’s time to start robbing the piggy or Hello Kitty bank and run to your nearest Coinstar machine! I totally cashed out and walked away with $45.45. Unlike chancing it in Vegas, you’re a winner every time!
Was browsing around Whole Foods and came across this intimating lunch box. First thought, FIERCE!
Hahaha, I think lunch boxes back in the day, consisted of super hero characters and Care Bears. It was oh so innocent!
Lady Gaga, awesome!
I’m in love with CHOCOLATE POP ROCKS!!! Yea, you heard me right! I had dinner at Jose Andres @ the SLS hotel last night, and towards the end we ordered up some CHOCOLATE POP ROCKS! MmMmm.
I liked them so much, I had to order some to-go! They are so magical. Best part is, the chocolate doesn’t compromise the “pop”!
Woke up to another beautiful sunny day, so JP and I are about to head out on the cruisers. Before heading out, I fixed some mini pita sandwiches!
Whole wheat mini pitas, stuffed with organic hummus, alfalfa sprouts, and sliced japanese cucumbers. It was fresh, light, and very flavorful!
As you can see from my previous entries, we definitely love to eat! One of the most satisfying meals has to be a home cooked one. Some days I cook from Jean Georges book, and other days I prefer something Asian. Japanese, Vietnamese, Chinese, you name it, I can cook it! Btw…all of these ingredients can be found at Mitsuwa, Nigiya, or Murakai (Japanese grocery stores).
Soooo, today for dinner, here is what I cooked:
Cold Tofu, topped with daikon, ginger, bonito flakes, and japanese chives (nira)
Organic Green Tea Soba Noodle, topped with toasted seaweed & served w/warm dipping sauce
Broiled Hamachi Kama (Fish) w/citrus ponzu sauce
Our day started off like any other Sunday, except we decided to ditch the Farmers Mkt and head over to Ritz for some brunch. We’ve heard many good things about their brunch, so we had to go investigate and decide for ourselves!
We were seated promptly, then our waiter explained that the appetizers and desserts were self-served (buffet style), and then we also had a choice of 1 main entree off the menu. There were so many yummy choices, but I ended up going with the Lobster Benedict.
The food was delicious and light, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. It truly felt as if we were vacationing! Highly recommended!
Poor thing…can’t get up on his own. The thing that sucks is his mommy is in the background sleeping. Wake up woman! Your baby is rolling around trying to flip over. Helpppppp!
With all the traveling and unexpected moments in life, we never found the time to really sit down to add color to our home. We finally decided to order a new bed, so now it’s time to spruce up our boring white walls.
Option 1: Traditional paint
Option 2: Wallpaper!
We’re leaning more towards option 2, since there are so many modern patterns available. Gonna have to take a field trip over to look at some swatches. I found this one online, but it totally doesn’t go with our furniture.
I’m always been a fan of re-purposing little items around the house, but as of late, it seems to be trend that is getting more popular! Was browsing on apartmenttherapy.com, and excited to see the creativity in several re-purposing projects. My favorite one is the shipping pallets transformed into a daybed!
Spent the afternoon hanging out with my friend Trisha and it was so much fun! It was extremely hot today, so we went to Angelina for some frozen yogurt.
Today’s pick: Naturale with almonds. MMmmmmMmM.
Stopped by Greenleaf (gourmet chopshop) on Wilshire for:
On a last minute whim, JP, Mommy, and I decided to meet up in Vegas! We also lucked out because the Magic convention show was going on at the same time.
The first day we arrived, checked-into the Wynn and got ready for the evening. Our first stop was dinner at Bellagio, then we went to watch “O”. Enjoy the rest of our 48 hrs in the picture story below:
Was cruising on Wilshire Blvd last week and saw this advertisement for Literati Cafe. It’s so cute, I’m going to have to swing by sometime!
