Ever since I was a lil girl, there was always a certain level of fascination, when I stood in front of a vending machine trying to figure out my purchase. Today as an adult, you can still find me glued to the vending machines, except, the new modern version features fun & kitschy items.
I spotted this one @ The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. You can get everything from Lady Gaga rhinestone encrusted ear bugs, fashion tape, gourmet chocolate, jewelry, and even eyelashes. Although, you can find better quality, selection, & prices for falsie lashes just around the corner at Skins 6/2 Cosmetics.
I’ve traveled the world and simply adore the hot/cold drink vending machines in Tokyo. They even carry small selection of hot soups.
My 2nd runner up would be Bam! in NYC. They feature hot foods such as grilled cheese, sandwiches, and mozzarella sticks.
Sephora has been a long time favorite of mine, but as of late, they are lacking the variety of new and exciting brands. I find that many of the products they put on their “top recommendation” lists, are simply a hit or miss.
It’s relieving to finally come across a gorgeous apothecary like Skins 6/2 at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas. This mega beauty haven has all of the hard to find beauty brands like Love & Toast (hand creme), Creed (perfume), and Lash Royalty (falsie lashes).
The staff is extremely helpful and will even do a quick makeup touch up upon request. I also like the fact that Skins 62 is located right next door to Marquee nightclub, making it extra convenient for me to swing by and get my lashes and last minute beauty needs before I hit the dance floor!
Tis the season of holiday parties, and excuses to get all dolled up. I’m loving the sexy cat eye look everyone is doing this fall/holiday season. I’ll have to re-create this look with a tad bit less eyeliner, but definitely some false lashes! I’ll have to stop by and check out the selection on Lash Royalty.
On my days off, I love perusing the aisles of Barnes & Nobles for some good reads. The magazine aisle is section, with hundreds of hidden gems.
Recently, I found this awesome women’s fashion & beauty magazine called Audrey. The content is fresh, modern, and features all sorts new (and well known) brands and luxe beauty products. It’s not stuffed full useless pages of perfume advertisements and Ralph Lauren ads. =)
I hear Audrey Magazine is also available online as well.
UK Beauty Blog, Filthygorgeousmakeup, just posted up another pretty makeup tutorial. I am so inspired to re-create this look!
I’m always get compliments on my lashes from women of all ages!!! I used to wear Mac, then Shu Uemura, but now my new favorites are from Lash Royalty.
It’s a pretty new company, with gorgeous styles that definitely look really natural on me. Mac lashes are too long and unflattering, while Shu’s are just too darn expensive (and they are officially closed in the US). Lash Royalty styles are $15 a pop, and I’ve reused mine at least 5x now. They hold their shape pretty well, even after several nights out on the town. =)
My favorite style is Chloe & Luxe-1, but they have a bunch of other really cute styles too. Oh, and here’s a 25% off coupon for Lash Royalty. Not a bad deal at all!

Trisha and I hopped on our cruisers and headed towards Santa Monica pier. Along the way, we stopped off at the skate park to check it out. Only in California, would you have a skate park, overlooking the ocean. What a gorgeous view!
5 miles to Santa Monica Pier, then 5 miles back home. It was refreshing. Can’t wait for summer!
Lounging by the pool, is the ultimate relaxation activity for me. I can get my exercise, de-clutter my thoughts, and spend some time reading magazines.
On St. Patty’s day, I saw a group of people play beer pong in the pool. It was fun watching them get drunk.
After checking some stats on my bloggy, I noticed a ton of you had interest in my vajazzle posting. Well, here’s a youtube vid I found about vajazzling! If you’re like me, it’s always nice to put a visual to it. We all have Jennifer Love Hewitt to thank for this new word, and apparently it has started a little trend. So here you go.
Sephora just picked up Tarina’s new cosmetic line, and the collection is too cute! A+ for design, but I won’t be switching my favorite cosmetics any time soon. The one piece that really stood out was this pink bracelet. There’s a black, clear, and grey one too, all in different designs.
No plans on picking this item up, but if you’re a Tarina fan, you better hurry up and get yours for only $30. From what I hear, that’s a steal of a deal for Tarina’ jewelry pieces.
A buddy of mine and I had a conversation about horrible plastic surgery zombies that plague the LA area. We just can’t figure out why and how people perceive the “lioness” look to be hot?! Also, if you’re going to go under the knife to improve yourself, why not give some extra attention and splurge for the ultimate plastic surgeon.
It’s clear that South America and Europe definitely have a better mix of hotties, and believe me, it’s not because of good genetics. Plastic surgery is used to enhance beauty, not make someone look like a “lioness”, martian, amoeba boobs (aka uni boobs) or like they have boobs that are trying to run away from each other. When plastic surgery is utilized correctly, you should look youthful and beautiful, yet I see lots of melting, waxy, unhappy, and distraught faces strolling around LA. It’s just creeeeeepy to me!
I guess most self-proclaimed celebs feel like they need to do these kinds of things to secure work. It’s the entertainment industry right? Ok, I get it. Once you’re fabricated look starts resembling Mr or Miss Potato Head, then I guess work time is over, because the new and improved version has already replaced you.
Does anyone else notice this?!
When you get cheap plastic surgery, you can end up looking like a hot mess. Moral of the story, if you want to step it up in the looks department, shell out the extra dough…it will go a long way!
What does it mean? Google Jennifer Love Hewitt & Vajazzle.
* How to use it in a sentence: (ex 1) Why don’t you go vajazzle yourself.
(ex 2) Guess what, I’m vajazzled right now.
Lupicia (a Japanese company) is well known for their exotic blends of green tea. If you’re tired of the traditional green tea you get at Japanese restaurants, you should stop by Lupicia for their exclusive blends. They are so aromatic and full of flavor. Keep in mind that they are unsweetened, but you can always add honey . I recommend drinking green tea without any sugar, so you get to experience the full flavor. Please stay away from those pre-packaged green tea packets, as those lack flavor and are very bitter. Splurge a little for good quality green tea, since it will certainly taste better! Some of my all time favorites are:
– Momo Peach Green Tea
– Strawberry & Vanilla
– Yuzu Green Tea
– Sakurambo (Black Cherry)
For those of you that live in SoCal, you can pick up a free JPY Magazine at most Japanese markets, ramen joints, and tea/dessert shops. This is a quarterly magazine that has great tips on where to shop for cute fashionable clothes (like things you see on the girls in Japan), healthy places to lunch, and also the best nail salons (Japanese nail art). This magazine will be on stands until February, so grab a copy and see if you can spot me out!
I just filmed for a short segment for The Doctors, and you can catch me on in January! They told me it’s scheduled to air on Thursday, January 7th or right around that date. You have to tune in and watch me! To find out what channel The Doctors is in your city, click on the image to be re-directed to their site for local listings.
I know our relationship has been on and off for quite sometime. You’ve kept me company in my loneliest moments, and you’ve been there in my greatest moments… We had our good times, and probably more bad times. hahaha. So, I just wanted to let you know that it’s officially over. I will always cherish our moments together. Sniff Sniff. I’m moving on.
People say, the only things certain in life are taxes and death. I guess I’m more of an optimist when it comes to the game of life. I often find that people ultimately wish for and desire the same things such as: happiness, good health, and wealth.
I’m here to say that happiness shouldn’t be something you wish for, it’s something you have to define. Happiness is a feeling inside, and that can only be determined by you, or by something or someone that makes you feel that way. I’d also like to remind you that good health should rank the highest on your list of priorities, because without it, life may become extremely challenging and you risk decreasing your overall quality of life. And wealth, it can be overrated. I’m sure you personally know or have heard about someone spoiled by money. It happens, but it doesn’t have to be you.
You see, it’s’ pretty simple. In this lifetime, you have the power to mold and shape your life into whatever you choose. I make it sound easy, but in all actuality, it really is. If you wanted to run across the street naked, you can do it. I’m not saying it’s a good idea, but you can do it.
Soooo, if you “want” to be “happy”, then you must figure out what gives you that feeling. Surround yourself around that person, place, or thing, and always have smile on your face. Stay healthy, and don’t worry about making mounds of money. When you take care of yourself physically and mentally, you are living the good life. With body and mind in sync, you will definitely find smart and creative ways to earn a decent living.
I believe that life wasn’t designed to be hard, it’s really what we make of it. So be good to yourself and enjoy the time you’re here.
Starting today (Jan 20th), several big retailers will giveaway $175 million worth of free high-end cosmetics as part of a class-action settlement alleging that the stores planned to fix prices. The weather in Singapore has been pretty cool this year with less humidity and rain. It’s really abnormal weather, but I must confess, it feels great.
I’m back in Singapore for just one day, which means more relaxing time by the pool & good eats. Next stop, Japan!
You know you’re in good hands when Sephora is in town! Oh, did I mention they also have Sephora at SFO International Terminal. =)
Since I’m getting ready to go to “hello kitty land” next week (aka Japan), I thought it would be appropriate to share some of the gossip floating around on the blogosphere.
It looks like MAC cosmetics will be coming out with the Hello Kitty limited edition line! Hopefully the selection and packaging will be like the Barbie collection. That has been one of my favorite collections thus far. The product launch is rumored to be in February, so make sure to check around for the actual release.
I often find myself reflecting on life and trying to find ways to spread more joy to others. You don’t have to be my friend to receive a smile or a nice gesture from me. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this world is full of crummy people who dont’ care about anyone but themselves.
Each year, I seem to weed out more and more “useless” people from my life. It’s not that I just woke up one day and said, “_____” is a real shit head or “_____” is an fking loser. It’s actually cumulative, and I know you know what I’m talking about.
There will always be people with bad character, who will continue to lurk around in your shadow. I say, it’s all good. Just let them be envious, morally poor, and a royal mess. I figure, most people already have to suffer from their dysfunctional & dilusional lives, so why should I have to remind them of this? Believe me, it’s really tempting to agree with someone when they say, “I’m just a loser” or “I think I’m such a slut”. Well, the truth is, you probably are to some extent. Hey, you said it, I didn’t!
It’s getting ready to be 2009, and I say cut the “loser people” out of your lives already. You’ll start to see how beautiful the world really is. Oh yea, and always make sure to treat yourself to some little luxuries in life.
– If you’re wanting a better companion, I’d say it’s time to dump yours and give someone else a chance.
– If you’re druling over some sexy Christian Lobou’s, I’d say go to Neimans because they are having a crazy ass sale.
– If you’re dreaming of that WALD Bentley GT, I’d say call Jonari & order it now.
We’re not promised tomorrow, so you have to stop putting off these thoughts and make it a reality. Have a wonderful holiday season and don’t forget to treat yourself. Wishing everyone good health and lots of happiness in the upcoming new year.
Shu Uemura always has limited edition items, and this holiday season they have teamed up with world renowned make-up and photographer Mika Ninagawa. This collection features a bunch of trios, packaged with rose theme designs.
I recently stopped in the Shu Uemura boutique at South Coast Plaza and pick up Mika’s limited edition trio eye pencils. They come in a dark blue, violent, and black pencil. These are perfect to add a bit of color to the bottom of your eyes, especially when you’re doing smoky eyes!
In Mika’s limited edition collection, they have several other sets of lip gloss and lip sticks, but I’m going to pass on those. I prefer MAC for my lip sticks! Last but not least, their brush set is a must! Shu Uemura’s brushes are very soft, durable, and provides a smooth application. These are perfect for traveling, and it come with a very cute case.
