Every Girl, Needs A Pretty Pair Of Heels

During a recent trip to Vegas, I indulged in some retail therapy @ Nordstrom.  Let me introduce you to my new 4.5″ peep toe bow pumps.  Perfect for dinner, or a night out with friends.  Best part is, they are actually comfy. ❤

Sanrio 50th Anniversary Event

Earlier this evening I met up with Young, Trung, and some friends to check out the Sanrio 50th Anniversary event, at the Santa Monica Barker Hanger.  Last year, Young and I attended the Hello Kitty Birthday celebration at Royal T in Culver City, and that was tons of fun.

First off, parking was $10, and it was pretty empty when I arrived at 8pm.  Yes, I know it is a weekday, but the HK Birthday event last year had lines going down the street everyday.

I will probably get mauled by HK and Sanrio fans for saying this, but this years concept was cute, but the event was pretty boring and lifeless.  For such a huge space, they only had a small section of activities and carnival type games.  The mini golf and mini ferris wheel were cute, but definitely aimed towards the 10-16 age group.  The pop up store featured not so exciting gift items, to include plush dolls, resuable bags, erasers, and other overpriced knick knacks.  Honestly, you can find a better selection of cute items at any regular Sanrio store.

The art selection was quite bleak, compared to the creative pieces they showcased at Royal T the previous year.  There were a couple of pieces that stood out was the piece that looked like a painting, but was made entirely of jelly beans!   If you missed this event, trust me, you really didn’t miss out on much!

Hope you enjoy some photos I snapped from the event.

Pre-Grand Opening @ The Santa Monica Place

I was so fortunate to attend the private pre-opening festivities @ The Santa Monica Place yesterday.  The new and improved shopping plaza is gorgeous!  It has Cb2, Hugo, Boss, Nike Town, Nordstroms, and Bloomies!  There’s also dinning on the top terrace, which features a breath taking view of Santa Monica.  Enjoy my sneak peak photos.

Btw, be sure to check out the main website for The Santa Monica Place.  They are having special promotions for the entire month of August, to celebrate their grand opening.

My Favorite Lashes, Like Ever!!!

I’m always get compliments on my lashes from women of all ages!!!  I used to wear Mac, then Shu Uemura, but now my new favorites are from Lash Royalty.

It’s a pretty new company, with gorgeous styles that definitely look really natural on me.  Mac lashes are too long and unflattering, while Shu’s are just too darn expensive (and they are officially closed in the US).  Lash Royalty styles are $15 a pop, and I’ve reused mine at least 5x now.  They hold their shape pretty well, even after several nights out on the town.  =)

My favorite style is Chloe & Luxe-1, but they have a bunch of other really cute styles too.  Oh, and here’s a 25% off coupon for Lash Royalty.  Not a bad deal at all!

Tour De Cure, “Cycling For A Cause”

Our friend Andy is participating in the Tour De Cure this year, to spread awareness & honor those whose lives have been affected by diabetes. Along with his dedication to cycle along with thousands of others for this noble cause, he has set a goal to fundraise for the event as well. All proceeds will go the American Diabetes Foundation, and your donation is tax deductible.

Small donations would greatly be appreciated. He’s almost at his goal, so every dollar will definitely make a difference.

****UDPATE:  Andy has reached his goal!  If you want to still help towards this cause, your donation is greatly appreciated***

Earth Day Freebie!

Stop by CB2 for an exclusive reusable cotton tote (with any purchase) on Earth Day! While supplies last and in-store promotion only.

I’ve switched out using plastic bags, with these sturdier reusable totes from Flip & Tumble, Whole Foods, and many other ones. The biggest perk about having these totes is that you can fit a lot more groceries in one bag, and they won’t rip! You’re also cutting down on using plastic & paper bags, so it’s definitely the eco chic thing to do. Besides, my kitchen cabinet has stopped over flowing with wads of plastic bags. I think we have all been guilty of that at some point!

So, if you’re a CB2 fan, definitely swing by and take advantage of this special freebie on Earth Day!
