Over the holiday weekend, we decided to venture up the coast to Malibu. First, we swung into the Malibu Country Mart, then went to check out Zuma Beach.
Before heading out, I read online and saw photos of Zuma Beach with crystal clear water, but it was far from. =(
The only area of beach that I’ve seen clear water was in Laguna Beach @ Shaws Cove. Anyhow, the drive back down PCH was beautiful.
Lupicia (a Japanese company) is well known for their exotic blends of green tea. If you’re tired of the traditional green tea you get at Japanese restaurants, you should stop by Lupicia for their exclusive blends. They are so aromatic and full of flavor. Keep in mind that they are unsweetened, but you can always add honey . I recommend drinking green tea without any sugar, so you get to experience the full flavor. Please stay away from those pre-packaged green tea packets, as those lack flavor and are very bitter. Splurge a little for good quality green tea, since it will certainly taste better! Some of my all time favorites are:
– Momo Peach Green Tea
– Strawberry & Vanilla
– Yuzu Green Tea
– Sakurambo (Black Cherry)
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Williams Sonoma is offering heart shaped macarons on their website. A+ for presentation, however I’m not sure how they would taste. Here are my favorite picks:
#1 Bouchon Bakery
#2 Jin’s Patisserie
#3 Jerne @ Ritz Carlton MDR
As many of you know, Jin’s Patisserie in Venice (Abbot Kinney St), has the best macarons I’ve ever tasted. Even the ones over at the Ritz in MDR, don’t come close to the exquisite texture and flavor Jin’s has to offer. I recently had a chance to try a macaron from Bouchon Bakery in Vegas, and was blown away at the texture and taste. I tried their limited edition egg nog macaron, and it was so heavenly.
You can find a Bouchon Bakery inside of Venetian in Las Vegas. Enjoy!
Our day started off like any other Sunday, except we decided to ditch the Farmers Mkt and head over to Ritz for some brunch. We’ve heard many good things about their brunch, so we had to go investigate and decide for ourselves!
We were seated promptly, then our waiter explained that the appetizers and desserts were self-served (buffet style), and then we also had a choice of 1 main entree off the menu. There were so many yummy choices, but I ended up going with the Lobster Benedict.
The food was delicious and light, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. It truly felt as if we were vacationing! Highly recommended!
One of my new found hobbies is cycling by the beach. I love sharing this experience with my friends. Here are just some random pics from our outing today. Here’s Miss Young, rocking the Schwwwwwwwwwwwin!
