Over the weekend, we had the chance to catch up with some buddies from Oregon. With last minute reservations, we scored a table @ Katsuya (LA Live). It was our 1st time to this location, so I didn’t know what to expect. I must say that the Brentwood location is still my favorite, because it’s spacious and just has a good mix of people. The food is ok, but the ambience is definitely worth the trip out. It’s a great place to entertain, kick back, and have some drinks.
As of late, I seem to be having way more fun on Wednesdays, then I do on weekends. I guess not having a 9 to 5 gig, makes everyday fair game!
I was in SF last week, so didn’t get a chance to venture out, but this week I decided to do something different.
I had my friend over for dinner, I made spaghetti with a side caesar salad and garlic bread. And for dinner, my girlfriend brought over some fabulous desserts from Chantilly Patisserie. Take a look for yourself…
I’m not much a dessert kind of gal, but these mini desserts were delicious! Japanese desserts are usually less sweet and packed with flavor. They always look so dainty and appetizing. =)
After dinner & desserts @ home, we drove over to Katsuya for some drinks. Things were pretty mellow this Wednesday, but it was really fun. Hope to do it again sometime. Thanks for the awesome desserts Young!!!
SLS is definitely a fun and new hot spot in Bev. Hills. It’s just right down the street from Sofitel on La Cienaga. Since the grand opening weeks ago, I’ve been there twice for drinks and desserts.
Drinks to try @ Bar Centro:
So far, I’m in love with the “Magic Mojito”, which a minty mojito poured on top of cotton candy! Yes, I said cotton candy! The flavors are amazing!
Our next favorite drink is the “Strawberry Magarita w/Dry Ice”. This concoction was made like any other margarita, accept they added dry ice! You could see a cloud of smoke come out of the blender. It was really cool! When it was finally finished, the texture looked liked gelato. The bartendar finally topped it off with pop rocks candy. This drink was a bit strong, but the the presentation was amazing.
Desserts you must try @ the Patisserie:
– 24k chocolate cake
– Yogurt w/pop rocks
